Professor Angelo Moretto is a Senior Scientist at the University of Padova, Italy, and former Professor of Occupational Medicine (Industrial Toxicology) in the Department of Cardiac-Thoracic-Vascular and Public Health Sciences. Until October 2025, he served as Director of the Occupational Health Unit at Padua University Hospital. Previously, he was Professor of Occupational Medicine at the University of Milan and Director of the International Center for Pesticides and Health Risk Prevention at “Luigi Sacco” Hospital, Milan. His research focuses on chemical risk assessment, particularly pesticides and combined environmental and occupational exposures, integrating mechanistic, in silico and in vitro approaches within the epi-tox framework. He has authored over 150 scientific publications and book chapters and has served on numerous international expert committees, including WHO, JMPR (former Chair), EFSA, and SCOEL, contributing to the advancement and harmonisation of chemical risk assessment globally.
