Dr. Monika Kemény holds a PhD in Chemistry and is a Certified Toxicologist with almost two decades of experience in regulatory toxicology at BASF, Germany. She leads the QSAR Toxicity Team at BASF, where she is responsible for the application and regulatory integration of QSAR models and read‑across strategies for metabolites and impurities.
In addition, Dr. Kemény is a member of the OECD expert group on Residue Definition and contributes, as an industry representative via CropLife Europe, to the development of internationally harmonised regulatory guidance. In this context, the Threshold of Toxicological Concern (TTC) approach is integrated into risk‑assessment frameworks for metabolites to support decision‑making using non‑animal methods, where appropriate.
Before joining BASF, she worked for several years with the DFG Senate Commission on Food Safety (SKLM), where she was involved in food safety evaluation at the science–policy interface and founded and led her own company during her studies, which was tasked with maintaining a register of hazardous substances for industry.
