Heidi Camilla Sagen-Ohren is Managing Director of Sensilist and Head of Food Technology & Aquaculture at Aquatiq AS in Norway. She holds a master's degree in food safety and is a trained food technologist, with a specialisation in microbiology, hygiene engineering, and pathogen control in food processing environments. Her particular area of expertise is Listeria monocytogenes — covering detection, source tracking, and elimination across the food industry, with a strong focus on salmon and seafood processing. She leads pathogen management projects from initial contamination mapping, through targeted interventions, to long-term monitoring and control. At Sensilist, Heidi Camilla leads the development and implementation of a Norwegian-developed method for highly sensitive Listeria detection, enabling identification of very low contamination levels in both food and environmental samples. In her role at Aquatiq AS, she works closely with food producers to integrate hygiene engineering, process optimisation, and digital solutions for improved microbiological control.
Her approach is practical and data-driven — combining diagnostics, engineering measures, and digital monitoring to deliver sustainable, end-to-end food safety improvements.
